RESEARCHER FOCUSED ON PREECLAMPSIA & LONG-TERM HEALTH IMPACT, HEART FAILURE

#EndPreeclampsia would like to express deep gratitude to Dr. Brandon M Schickling for researching #preeclampsia and future #cardiovasculardisease in those who've experienced a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy.

When Dr. Schickling was asked why this research matters, he answered,

"Diseases and disorders predominately affecting mothers are severely underfunded and understudied. This work is important to shed light on the mechanisms of a disorder with 76,000 maternal and 500,000 neonatal global deaths per year, with additional long-lasting maternal and offspring complications, including heart failure."

#EndPreeclampsia couldn't agree more! A thank you to Dr. Schickling's faculty mentor/adviser, and our medical Advisory Board member, Dr. Mark Santillan, M.D. Ph.D., FACOG, FAHA, associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology - maternal-fetal medicine, Carver College of Medicine
